Narcan Distribution

Making Naloxone (Narcan) Accessible in Our Community

No Barriers. No Questions. Free.

We coordinate naloxone distribution across Sangamon County and beyond to ensure it is easy to access when and where it’s needed.

What We Do:

  • Provide free naloxone kits to the public
  • Place kits at local businesses and community locations
  • Support outreach teams with supplies
  • Ensure kits are restocked and not expired
  • Offer basic guidance on how to use Naloxone

Where to Find a Naloxone Distribution Site:

Naloxone kits are available at partner locations across Sangamon County, including:
  • Local businesses
  • Community organizations
  • Outreach teams in the field
Some partners include Chop Express, Handy Pantry, Mansion View, Jamal's Grocery, The Curve Inn, Currency 1st Exchange, Lon's Tire & Auto, and more.

How to Become a Naloxone Distribution Site:

Businesses and organizations can partner with Heartland HOUSED to make naloxone available on-site for public use by completing the Business Agreement for Narcan Availability on Site Form

What this looks like:
  • Store naloxone in a visible, accessible location
  • Ensure staff are aware of its location
  • Have designated staff trained (training can be provided)
  • Contact us when supplies run low
Heartland HOUSED:
  • Provides and restocks naloxone
  • Monitors expiration dates
  • Offers training and support
