Funding Opportunity: FY27-FY29 Emergency Solutions Grant

4/3/2026

The Heartland Continuum of Care is beginning the process of allocating FY27-FY29 Emergency Solutions Grant Funding. An important shift for this year is that the State of IL has adopted a 3-year grant cycle to create additional stability for organizations while reducing some of the administrative burden.

The FY26 allocation for the Heartland Continuum of Care was $197,205, at this time we do not know what the allocation will be for FY27 and beyond but will use the FY26 number as an estimate until an amount is released.

Important Dates:
April 23 at 5 PM - Letters of Intent are Due
May 7 - Heartland Continuum of Care Board Approves Allocation

To apply complete the ESG LOI and submit a budget by 5 PM on April 23rd. Late applications will not be accepted.

Based on community need, the highest priorities for funding consideration are:
- (1) Emergency Shelter - with a priority emphasis on case management expansion, building capacity to keep families together and increase supports for households facing complex challenges
- (2) Rapid Rehousing
- (3) Street Outreach projects.
