Since the launch of Springfield and Sangamon County’s Strategic Plan to Address Homelessness in 2022, the Heartland Continuum of Care has reported significant progress in expanding housing opportunities, reducing unsheltered homelessness, increasing outreach efforts, and strengthening community-wide coordination. The mid-plan report outlines key successes, ongoing challenges, and priorities for the years ahead as local partners continue working toward long-term housing stability for vulnerable residents.
